Aha... Class Moments In my Opinion.

My first would have to be the movie's we'd watched in class one that rings to mind is "Bowling for Colombian". I know it was a popular movie at a time but believe it or not i never watched it. I always heard mixed reviews but seeing it finally in class it brought the whole media perspective in mind. It made it much more interesting and entertaining all in one. I really like Jeopardy at first it was a good way to study for the chapters as a whole class. I really enjoy class room activities like that.

My final memory would be my first day of class where you were kind enough to lend me the course book for the quarter I am very thankful and you were very generous. I knew that i would have a good quarter learning and attending your class. Thank You, Mrs Deck.

This suit is towards Courtney Love, over the past year i have heard much about her in the media. She has the reputation to have a high temper in the entertainment business. In this case it was over her twitter messages. She would often update her status in foul threat or anger about a personal issue in her life. In this event it is found as a threat and she is trying to fight it as a libel case towards "Twitter".

Propaganda Techniques

I chose to write about this commercial because it implies that having a baby or not using a condom could result in big responsiblity or basic miserey with the crying baby going crazy in the store.
Fear: This is instilled in the commercial by making the audience think twice about next time there in a position sexually to think of the possible consequenses and how your life can soon be.

Plain Folks: This technique is used because it is showing a regular guy going shopping with his kids which is a daily and natural way in the typical American lifestyle.

Research Project Objective

I decided to write my research project on a conspiracy known as a secret society called the Illuminati. I will go into the topic basically starting with their history and how they plan on brainwashing Americans into a future of consumption and selling you false dreams. Leading the future of the world into further corruption and into a "New World Order" through inflicting images that we relate too and targeting the younger generation. We have witnessed that television is becoming more and more outrageous through reality shows etc... Also my information will discuss how the cult is working in the media as CEO's to huge corporations that basically control and approve what it is we see as the audience. Although it is basically a conspiracy we already know that television and media has a lot of power towards our way of living and that the possibility wouldn't doubt you. These are my intentions to get across while discussing my research project in class.

Internet

I have never known the amount of Social websites that have been made available for users until i recently researched them on Wikipedia.com. It has given me over 500 to view and in this research I recently discovered a new site called Crewster. It is a site which allows you to find work in the film industry allowing you to network and post the jobs that can be made available by meeting new people and posting a resume as well as to chat with other registered users. The site is free and it allows you to explore the field of the film industry through other people.

I am however familiar with the social website known as Pirate Bay. This is a site where you can down load films illegally.Of all the sites I was looking at this was one i am familiar with. As an experienced user i would like to say that it was very useful. I was able to find films that i have not seen in years and download them into a Dvd in order to use this website and make it useable You must down load the application known as Bit torent which allows you to download them properly. In this site you can check the rating with other avid users and are able to gather information to make sure that the quality of the uploaded film is of good quality. I find this very useful as I hope you will as well.

Movies

My favorite movie in 2009 would have to be "Broken Embraces" This movie is placed in Spain, Madrid and it is starring Penelope Cruz with the stylish story line and excellent plot that grabs your attention through out the film. This movie had great dialogue although in Spanish and the typical drama setting in most Spanish films with mystery and comedy all intertwined making you get a taste of some thing different for your money instead of that typical commercial Hollywood Plot.

As for my all time favorite movie at this time while lets face it, I cant just have one all time favorite movie, I mean I love movies of all stories, genres and even times in history but my one movie that i do always mention is Cruel Intentions. I guess I mention this constantly because it was during my teenage era of modern films and probably a plot that as a young coming of age adult I can recognize and relate too the cleverness and brilliant acting and the intense dialogue that grew on me and intrigued me to even quote them. This movie to me had all that a movie can have in my eyes or even in a sense to my morality or vision to human life. I loved that it did not give you the typical bullshit love story but yet was able to allow you to grab the emotion the movie fed you and actually understand his struggle to love and being manipulated. This movie was able to let you feel all human emotions that the human mind is set to feel starting from hate , revenge , love and even remorse. Magazine

I propose a magazine that will take you away from our ordinary world and make you feel free. I would call it "Natures Way" this magazine would be about art in the most natural way. It would have photography of far away places and people from all kinds of places. This magazine would be different because it would allow people to express themselves and see a world with out politics, taxes, homes that are made naturally with out any worries that plague our minds on a daily basis and lead us to constantly stress out.

The demographics would be open to all, any one who has ever wondered what kind of world we would live in if things were just free. No rules to how we should live, A real free world. Although it would be make believe we would use concepts that would be realistic making this sort of world possible to one day live in if things were to change.There are other magazines that have similar concepts such as organic ways of living and environmental pictures of being out in the wilderness but this magazine would be about getting away the pictures will take my viewers to a world where they can appreciate the beauty in this sort of life style. This would include nice vibrant pictures that revolve around normal every day things that we do in an ordinary world but with the concept of being free such as; Kids stopping at small shops to pick up small toys that were hand made trading with other kids with things they have made.

The world would be a place were people are productive but every one supports every one else in there community and things would be simple no materialistic things and if there were it would be given away free from a passer by who specialized in making those crafts. This is how the pictures would be painted out telling a story through photography and people would make them out the way they would want. My magazine would be different because although its about a free world it would still be pretend and people would mostly buy it for the idea of a free world and for the artistic expression through the art of the magazine. The writing would have poetry and freedom of speech to either relating to the image or just a random thought that would pertain to the magazine.

The advertisers would be open for anyone because it would be a magazine for any one who is interested in this life style of a free world which pretty much is open to any one who wants to be a part of this adventure of running away. I would still like to have my major advertisers to promote there product in a way that can be relate to the concept of our magazine like for instance Nike can have people giving away shoes that were made from some one in the community and the other advertiser can be maybe a store like Trader Joes being an open store for the public where they can shop inside and buy products that a family harvested from a farm down the street. My third advertisers can be toilet paper the Charmin company which can be a paper mill where they make the paper and giving them away home to home making life easy with the simple every day things.The fourth advertiser would be a cereal company like Kellogs corn flake since its a natural cereal and maybe we can sell it from a picture on how the cereal os made naturally. The fifth advertisers would be Shampoo like a huge company such as Panteen Pro V a shampoo that can be seen in a normal bottle of plastic and bathing in the comfort of there home. This will leave room for plenty more advertisers to come join along as long as they are willing to do there advertisments in the same sort of concept of the magazine.

The articles would be open to any thing that has to do with life such as; 1)History lessons, 2) Poetry, 3) Articles on free speech maybe some one expressing them selves on this new world,
4) Articles on the environment and the dangers we are facing daily with the way we our living.
5) Article on clothing and fashion peoples different opinions on style and why they chose there style.

The cover would be photographs of natural sights all around the world historical ones or never before seen landmarks. The colors around it would be light earth tone colors that can soothe the magazine that would be our trade mark. The magazine would constantly change its colors every month as long as they stay earth tone. The cover would also include pictures of people every month normal people that our not celebrities but in every day life people who are actually drawn through artist points of view maybe even air brushed to touch them up or even change there image since we have to make the magazine catch attention visually and artistically still using flaws of people but in a sort of animated but yet still look realistic.

I know what most of you are thinking who have already read this book, Crazy right. I chose this book because i believe that every book has a different meaning to every person. This book opened my eyes to how messed up life can be. The characters in this novel all were described with great detail making them come to life. The good thing i liked about the book was no matter how twisted things got or how evil your environment was hope was never lost. They prevailed into trying to live normal lives and continue chasing there dreams. I recommend it, I actually read this book later in life as suppose to most other readers who were introduced to it in there teenage years. I was 22 years old but even then it left an impact.

Media Impact through film.

Objective: Why did Avatar win best picture of the year for 2009 when there were tons of other better written scripts with unique plots that were not considered.

Hypothesis: It won best picture for the success and amount of money it made rather then for what matters a creative unique plot with great cinematography.

Methods: Random Sampling will be my method in gathering my data. I would ask " Did you support the movie "Avatar" due to the storyline or because of all the hype and images that were surrounding you in advertisements.

Prediction: People were not at all really awed by this creation but were more impressed visually then actually walking out thinking that it was a greatest picture of the year.



The Movie "Avatar" has been rated the best picture of the year for 2009. I believe this is based on propaganda through images. The images have been exposed in making it an environmental awareness type film allowing people to support it so they can feel better about themselves. This is done through the two- step flow theory and opinion leaders that support the cause for the wrong reason such as giving their opinion because of the success than to actually have an idea of what a good film consists of. This leads to social advertisement in giving bad opinions causing more support to a film that could have waited to be viewed at home when available for rent.

Visually it was exciting and new. I can support that as a viewer to the film but it was a typical and non inventive storyline. A little over a million was spent on advertising images which are found throughout the world in people's daily lives such as: Fast Food chains, large corporations etc.... As successful as the movie was we have not heard about any type of funding actually supporting any environmental matter making the cause false.

I believe that this leads to my opinion to the vote of the best picture of the year being biased and was more based in the amount of money it made rather then what should count A unique creative story line.

Media Autobiography

The media has been around my life since i was born literally. My families background starts way back in the 60's. My grandfather owned one of the first Mexican theaters in California which featured some of the most talked about talents in that genre at that time. In the 70's he bought a radio station again targeted towards the Mexican community called Radio Kaza. So inevitably my family still owned this radio station while i was born in 1984.This to me was my calling as to why I am so interested in this type of media.

As a child I remember going around the office with my mom and going into the production studio. If I was at my grand parents house the radio station would constantly be playing. I believe these habbit's lead to my constant need to be around music, movies and Tv for the most part. I love the entertainment part of media which makes sense due to my constant creativity and majors i choose as an adult student.

As for books, newspapers,magazine and internet use are all other sources that have been influenced through school at a later age. I was able to use it for school purposes and from there it opened the doors to making me more savvy and prepared to getting more involved at least for the internet that is. The magazines I would use for either gossip in the entertainment purposes and for a brief time I would use them to read about cars. In this present time I read them for health purposes to update me on new exercise and eating tips which is one of my common reading "Mens Health".

Television in my child hood was huge and i was big on cartoons and kid show so of course i would become a victim to all the advertisements that were directed towards us. I was a spoiled kid who would always have the most talked about inventions and toys targeted towards my age group. Media is around and huge and it can be used positively or negatively point being its every where and it will interfere into your life. You can decide on how it will do that it can brain wash you and make you buy things you don't need or it can be used to inform you on your present day in your community or all around the world.
